| Farm and Fishing Fairs |
Throughout the year, the towns of Markina-Xemein, Lekeitio, Ondarroa and Berriatua share the scene for the principal fairs.
Markina-Xemein holds several fairs, but the most outstanding ones take place in February and October.
The first fair specialises in nursery plants and trees, as well as farm implements and machinery.

October fair
During the October fair, Urriko Azoka, livestock, cheese and farm product contests and exhibitions are held. It is one of the most "classical" fairs on the Basque Country's fair calendar.

Lekeitio holds two annual fairs.

Cider and Meat day (Lekeitio)
In August, the Sagardo eta Okela Eguna fair, when apple cider and local meat are tasted, attracting many visitors.

Santo Tomas fair
The traditional Santo Tomas fair is held in December, an introduction to Christmas with the sale of farm, livestock, fishing and homemade products.

Tuna Week
Every two years, in July, in the middle of the coastal season, Lekeitio celebrates "Tuna Week". This event not only is a bustling fishing fair; it also holds technical seminars, tuna contests and tuna-tasting events.

Anchovy Dawn
In May, the coastal town of Ondarroa also holds the Antxoa Eguna Anchovy Dawn. In addition to the traditional exhibition and sale of tinned tuna, gastronomic contests are held and large tuna tapas or pintxos are tasted.

Cider and Meat day (Ondarroa)
In August, also in Ondarroa, the Sagardo eta Okela Eguna (Apple Cider and Meat Day) takes place, a farm food fair with local meat and cider tasting events.

Country House day
Coinciding with the festivities in honour of San Gregorio, another classical regional fair event take place in the town of Berriatua: the Baserri Eguna. It is a fair accompanied by the exhibition, tasting and sales of farmhouse products, tinned fish, fruit and vegetable preserves and handcrafts.
